Ever since Bill Hammond was a little boy he has always wanted to travel the high seas. Always dreaming of some adventure or some world record catch he might make when he got older. He loved spending time with his Grandparents on their live-aboard boat, The Topaz, on the East Coast of Florida and the tales his Grandparents would tell.
Luckily, Bill was born in Sarasota, Florida. If he was born anywhere else in the world he would have eventually made it here. His parents moved the family to Fort Myers from Sarasota in 1977 and have made a home here. It was an easy adjustment only being an hours drive away. Bill's father is the Deputy County Administrator and the namesake for Hammond Stadium, the spring training baseball stadium for the Minnesota Twins. Bill took to the waterways here right away, spending hours fishing the saltwater creeks, rivers and mangrove islands of the Fort Myers area. He became a proficient angler and outdoorsman and is a full time professional fishing guide.
